Meet the Team: Christopher Rollins – Senior Developer

Chris has been with KRS for almost 4 years. He enjoys the camaraderie with other developers and has recently become a father. His son is his absolute joy but he does spend time investigating new, cutting edge technologies, sketching, hiking and camping.

How long have you been with KRS?
I’ve been with KRS for just under 4 years now. End of November will be the 4 year mark.

What do you enjoy most about KRS?
I really enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and the camaraderie with the other developers. We are like a family, and as such, we work well together and know each other’s perks and skills. This makes for a really enjoyable working environment.

What is your greatest achievement at KRS?
Running with some of the most stressful clients and helping to make the projects a success. Some clients can be a handful, but knowing how to handle them and ensuring that they are happy is a key element to making a success out of a project.

What are your interests and hobbies?
I have recently become a dad, so my greatest interest and hobby is spending time with my son, Connor. He is an absolute joy in my life. Not to forget his mother, the love of my life. My other interests and hobbies include:

  • Investigating new technologies – I have an insatiable thirst for knowledge, and learning new things makes me very happy. The more cutting edge, the better.
  • Sketching – I have a knack for charcoal sketching. Although, I have not done any sketches in a long time.
  • Hiking and camping – Although, this is also something I haven’t done in a while.
  • Puzzle and thinking games – I like to challenge my brain… and mental exercise is always good.

What is your greatest achievement personally?
My greatest personal achievement would be becoming a dad, obviously . Nothing in life compares to the feeling one gets when they become a parent. Although, I could definitely do with some sleep…

Do you have any qualifications you would like to share?
Recently, I have become a Microsoft Specialist in Programming in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS.

What are you a member of?
I am a scout. Once you become a scout, you are a scout for life.

Anything else you would like to mention?
Since I finished studying, I wanted to get into the software development world and make my mark on the industry, as my passion is development and software as a whole. Over the years, I have been honing my skills, learning, and getting closer to becoming a success, not just in my line of work, but in my career as a software development enthusiast. Soon, I hope, I will be able to lead others in the same, or better direction.
