I’m Bored is an application developed by KRS that is every parent’s answer to the chilling words of their offspring “I’m Bored” or “I’ve got nothing to do”. Detailing local child and family friendly events and happenings, I’m Bored was originally launched as an in-Facebook application. Quickly gathering tens of thousands of likes in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban, it grew to a stage where the demand required a mobile application.
KRS developed an Android version which was launched in 2014. As our first internally developed Android app, we learnt a lot about developing native Apps. Particularly consumer-facing apps, with high needs for ease of use, a great user interface, privacy of data, and social media integration (you can share events with Friends via Facebook or Google+).
Excitingly, I’m Bored is now also available on the iOS operating system.
One of the first co-development projects between KRS and its India-based app partners, the I’m Bored iOS app has been swiftly created, tested and now implemented. We couldn’t be more pleased with the results as not only is the interface smart and usable, it has been an excellent test of the relationship between the two companies and bodes well for the future. I’m Bored will be available on the iStore from the Easter School Holidays, well in time to be of great use to parents across South Africa!
